Strengthen Traceability, Streamline Document Workflows

In life science quality management, traceability and document control go hand in hand. The more clearly your documents, training, and changes are connected, the easier it is to stay compliant, audit-ready, and in control.

This June, SimplerQMS brings enhancements that strengthen those connections, improve visibility across your document lifecycle, and remove common friction points so your team can keep work moving.

Stronger Connections Across Documents, Training, and Changes

Managing quality means understanding how documents, training requirements, and Change Control all fit together. These enhancements make those connections easier to see, maintain, and act on.

Here’s what’s new:

  • See training requirements directly on documents. Related training rules are now displayed directly on documents, so you can immediately see which training requirements are connected to a specific document without switching between modules. Stronger traceability between controlled documents and training requirements, right where you need it.SimplerQMS Documents Linked to Training Rule
  • Keep related documents up to date automatically. When linking documents in Document Control and Change Control, you can now choose whether a relationship points to a specific version or automatically follows the latest effective version. Less manual updating, more accurate relationships.SimplerQMS – Improvement in Referenced Items
  • Make every change easier to understand. Change Summaries are now available throughout more of the document lifecycle, giving authors and approvers clear visibility into what changed and why. Once a document becomes effective, the summary is preserved as part of its revision history, making it easier to trace changes over time.
  • Preserve traceability automatically. When creating documents or Change Requests from templates, document relationships are now inherited automatically. Your documents start connected from the moment they’re created.

Here’s what that looks like in practice:

  • When preparing for an audit, training requirements linked to each document are immediately visible, giving you clear evidence of traceability without manual cross-referencing.
  • During approvals, approvers have the full context of what changed in the document and why, without having to look elsewhere.
  • During audits, document relationships, revision history, and training connections are all visible and traceable in one place.

What that means for you? A quality management system where documents, training, and changes work as one, not as separate pieces.

Smoother Everyday Administration

Even small interruptions can slow down quality work. These improvements remove common friction points so your team can stay focused on what matters.

  • Keep work moving when someone is away. Administrators can now undo a document check-out when needed. If someone forgets to release a checked-out document before going on leave, an administrator can restore access so the rest of the team doesn’t have to wait.SimplerQMS – Undo Document Check-Out
  • Find the right document, faster. Managing a growing document library means more to search through. Extended search capabilities across custom fields, tags, quality processes, relationships, and attachments help you locate the right document faster while maintaining traceability as your system scales.

The result? Less time managing documents and permissions, and more time focused on quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.
